Fashion Universe: Highlighting fashion from all over the world, one designer at a time.

Vision

The purpose of this blog is to cover fashion from all over the world, along with highlighting designers/business owners from specific countries and their creations we will be exhibiting each week. With that being said, this blog not only intends to showcase fashion from different countries but also expose our viewers to other cultures and art on a more universal scale. It's also intended to support these global fashion designers by examining their clothing and websites that showcase their creative endeavors and outfits.

Menchén Tomás

by Denisse Quijas

The Spanish designer Olga Menchén founded Menchén Tomás in 1995. She studied at Escuela de Artes y Técnicas de la Moda in Barcelona. She has worked as a designer in film, theater, and television. In addition to designing, Olga manufactures and does the entire process of her garments herself. All her creations are made in Spain. The designer ensures luxury and high quality in all her design lines. Her design line includes bride, Prêt-à-Porter, and party collections. The designers like to create dramatic clothing using silk, sheer, feathers, bright colors,  and floor-length gowns. During 1995 and 2001, the collections were exhibited at  Salón Gaudí’s catwalk, and since 2013 they have been displayed at Mercedes Fashion Week in Madrid and 080 Fashion week in Barcelona. The brand is part of the ACME, the Fashion Association of creators in Spain.

Menchén Tomás "Old Money" 2022 Collection

1. For the first look, the designer adds a touch of drama to this red jumpsuit with an extravagant flower, which stands out and captures this piece's attention.

2. For this outfit, w
e can see how the puffed sleeves of the top give prominence to the top. Likewise, the long pants gave this outfit a sophisticated and youthful touch.

3. As seen here, Menchén combines two different textures that make an exciting outfit; sequins on the dress and sheer for the top—adding a feminine and dramatic touch with bishop sleeves.

4. Here we see the combination of a strong color palette, hot pink and lime green. Again the designer gives a feminine touch to these two pieces.

5. In this look, the designer again adds this extravagant flower to the top of this red long-length dress, giving it a sensual and feminine touch.

6. In this outfit, we can see a mixture of two red and hot pink tones. In which the two colors are protagonists. In addition, the silhouette of the blazer accentuates the feminine waist, and the length of the trousers gives sophistication to this suit.

7. Here, we see an interesting take on Menchén's outfit by creating this sheer lime green long dress revealing the feminine silhouette.

7. H8  8. Once again, this long silk dress shows the feminine touch and the intense, vivid colors on which the designer bases her collection.

9. This look shows us again the mix of textures and the mix of drama, sophistication, and femininity that the designer creates by incorporating the feathers on the strapless.

10. For the final look here, we see another prominent flower on the shoulder of the blouse. Contrary to past looks, Menchén creates this outfit in white, adding that striking and dramatic touch to the asymmetry of these pieces.

In conclusion, as illustrated by the images of Menchén clothing, it is apparent that her style focuses primarily on feminine and sophisticated silhouettes, mostly in bright colors. With hints of lime green, red, and pink. Likewise, the combination of these vivid colors and luxurious features, like the big flowers and the feathers in some of her pieces, is fascinating. We can definitely identify the designer's dramatic touch in each of her designs.
